The new and improved Anderson Skills Camp is made up of four sessions: an on-ice session where participants will get to try out the latest Power Edge Pro Equipment, a newly developed off-ice shooting and stickhandling session to help players develop proper techniques and shooting mechanics, a fitness session, and a nutrition seminar to educate players on the importance of proper nutrition. Our goal is to teach youth players how to develop and maintain the physical and mental strength that is needed to excel in the sport of hockey. The Anderson Skills Camp not only delivers an unrivaled educational program but first and foremost an unforgettable ANDERSON experience that will be the highlight of each player’s summer!

Longer than any previous on-ice session offered at the Anderson Skills Camp, the new On-Ice training portion is designed to test participants speed, agility, and skill. From power skating to testing the power of their shot, our elite level coaches will have players complete various drills designed to help them improve in different aspects of the game. Goalies will be taken aside to receive 1-on-1 coaching by our certified goalie advisors. Participants will then be put to the ultimate test by demonstrating the skills and techniques learned in practice, by taking part in a scrimmage.

The new and improved strength and conditioning segment, powered by Anderson Hockey, will feature a workout plan instructed by Walter Dong, Edmonton’s very own strength and speed coach, and will have participants taking part in different workouts and completing different challenges that will directly translate to their on-ice performance. What’s more, participants will receive a take-home version of the workout so they can continue to practice and train like a pro at home.

During the shooting and stick handling session, participants will be split into two groups. One group will test their stick handling skills using the new Anderson Hockey latest Tools and Tricks, Athletics will be coached on proper shooting techniques by one of our elite level coaches. Once each group completes the stick handling and shooting tutorials, it’s time to have a little fun and take part in a scrimmage.

The Anderson Nutrition Seminar is designed to educate participants on the importance of proper nutrition and how it relates to performance in hockey. In this segment, participants will be split into two groups. While one group is attending the nutrition seminar, learning how to properly fuel their body, the other group will participate in a brief product knowledge session.
